Nikdag: an exciting turn of events

Kali Cramer

For the first time ever, HCA is opening up a new high school event.  Nikdag seems to be the buzz as students scramble for dates to the country-themed dance.  Student council president, Callie Arosen believes this dance will be just as successful, if not more, than Homecoming.  “I think it will be phenomenal because outside guests are permitted. It will be more fun and relaxed because of the informal theme.”

DJ Cal Nolan will electrify the crowds on Friday, February 24 from 8 to 11 pm in the small gym in the basement at HCA.  Country-themed cutouts will be available for photography.  There will be a variety of desserts and refreshments, lowering the cost of Nikdag to $15.

Though most high school students did show up to Homecoming, Arosen’s optimistic attitude has skyrocketed for this new occasion.  She says she is looking for “At least 100. We’re hoping for all of the student body.”  Unlike Homecoming, there will be a place to request songs prior to the event.
